1. Acceptance of Terms

By using friendlies.chat (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

Friendlies.chat is a video chat platform that connects strangers for face-to-face conversations based on shared interests. The Service includes video calls, room creation, matching, and moderation features.

3. User Accounts

You must sign in with a valid Google account to use the Service. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account and for all activities that occur under your account.

4. User Conduct

By using the Service, you agree to the following rules:

  • Face must be visible at all times. You must keep your face in the video frame during calls.
  • No bad language. Offensive, abusive, or hateful language is prohibited.
  • No underage users. You must be at least 13 years old (or 16 in the EU).
  • No dating. The Service is for conversations, not romantic encounters.
  • No trolling. Lighthearted jokes are fine, but harassment is not.

5. Moderation and Enforcement

We take moderation seriously. Violations of the User Conduct rules will result in:

  • First offense: Permanent ban. There are no warnings.
  • Reporting: Users can report others for violations. Reports are reviewed by moderators and may result in a ban.
  • Appeals: There is no appeal process. Bans are final.

6. Content Ownership

You retain ownership of any content you create or share on the Service (e.g., profile pictures, room names, video calls). However, by using the Service, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, store, and display your content solely for the purpose of operating the Service.

7. Prohibited Activities

You may not:

  • Use the Service for any illegal purpose.
  • Attempt to bypass any security measures.
  • Impersonate another person or entity.
  • Disrupt or interfere with the Service.
  • Record video calls without explicit consent (except as required for moderation).

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without any warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, friendlies.chat and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of the Service. We are not responsible for the conduct of other users.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless friendlies.chat and its operators from any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses arising from your use of the Service or violation of these Terms.

11. Termination

We reserve the right to terminate or suspend your account at any time, without prior notice, for any reason, including violation of these Terms. Upon termination, your account will be deleted.

12. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Romania. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Romania.

13. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Terms on this page. You are advised to review this page periodically.
